London NFL fans say ticket app glitched, leading to long delays entering stadium

Fans in London for today’s Vikings-Browns game complained of long queues to get into the stadium and ticketing apps that weren’t working.

The Daily Mail reports that the OnePass ticketing app wasn’t working, causing big crowds outside the entrances to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Fans on social media shared images of the malfunctioning app and videos of long lines. Some fans reported that they were being allowed entry by showing their email confirmation of ticket purchases, while others said gate agents were telling them they could only gain admission via the app.

The NFL will be back at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next week for the Broncos against the Jets.

AP Top 25 poll: Penn State, Texas tumble in Week 7 college football rankings

Week 6 in college football was headlined by a historic upset, as the previously winless UCLA Bruins defeated James Franklin’s Penn State Nittany Lions, 42-37. According to CBS Sports Research, it was just the fifth time an 0-4 or worse team defeated an AP top-10 team, and the first since 1985. UCLA entered this matchup having not held a lead in any game this season, but the Bruins scored the first 10 points of the game on Saturday.

Penn State fell from No. 7 to out of the top 25 completely, but the Nittany Lions were hardly the only team to be embarrassed this past Saturday. Arch Manning struggled in his first SEC road action, as his No. 9 Texas Longhorns were upset by the unranked Florida Gators, 29-21. The Longhorns are no longer ranked. Consider that preseason No. 1 Texas, No. 2 Penn State and No. 4 Clemson are a combined 8-7 this season with one win vs. Power 4 competition.

We also saw No. 14 Iowa State struggle out of the gates vs. Cincinnati, going down 17-0 in the first quarter. It was too big of a hole for the Cyclones to dig out of, as they fell, 38-30. Iowa State fell eight spots to No. 22.

  • The worst from a wild Week 6

The worst from a wild Week 6

Dabo Swinney reacts to Clemson football’s blowout win vs UNC

Clemson football dominated UNC to win 38-10 in Week 6. Tigers coach Dabo Swinney reacted to the win and more postgame.

There was no shortage of candidates for the Week 6 Flop 10 as two preseason Playoff teams went down, and folks are learning Super Bowl rings don’t mean squat on campus.

Here’s some of the lowlights from Week 6 of college football:

    Bill Belichick

It opened with a trick play for a Clemson TD and the laughs just kept coming Saturday. Things aren’t going well for Chapel Bill. The Tar Heels trailed Clemson 28-3 at the end of the first quarter, and UNC students had seen enough, heading for the exits — probably to He’s Not Here (I’m wondering how many Heels fans wished that about Sir Hoodie). Clemson scored four touchdowns on its first 16 plays. Maybe hiring your son to run your defense wasn’t the best move… North Carolina lost 38-10 (it wasn’t that close) and is 0-3 vs. Power Four opponents, having been outscored 120-33. On to Cal? More like on to basketball season.

If you thought UNC’s first half was bad, Boston College said, “Hold my beer.” Maybe Bill O’Brien was trying to take some of the stink off his old Patriots boss. The Golden Eagles trailed 31-0 at the break to Pitt, who handed a true freshman QB his first career start. And just look at some of these first half stats:

Yards: Pitt, 331; BC: 69First downs: Pitt, 20; BC: 2Time of possession: Pitt, 21:12; BC: 8:48Rushing yards: BC had negative-9 yards on eight carries.

It finished 48-7. “We did a terrible job,” O’Brien said postgame. “… I did a bad job. Did not have the team ready to play. I take full responsibility for what happened on that field.”

The Eagles are 1-4 and are propping up the ACC standings at 0-3 in league play.

  • Versatile Saints weapon Taysom Hill to make season debut in Week 5 vs. Giants

Versatile Saints weapon Taysom Hill to make season debut in Week 5 vs. Giants

The Saints haven’t been very good so far this season, but they are set to get an interesting weapon back for Sunday afternoon’s meeting with the Giants.

TE/QB/RB Taysom Hill has officially been activated from the PUP list.

This is Hill’s first action since he tore his ACL during a Week 13 meeting last season.

It’ll be interesting to see how OC Kellen Moore ultimately decides to utilize him since he’s been a bit of a Swiss Army knife for the Saints over the past few years.

The 34-year-old carried the ball 39 times last season for 278 yards and six touchdowns.

He also caught 23 passes for 187 yards, and had four pass attempts at QB.

Even if he is limited in his return, Hill could be a handful for the Giants’ defense.

New Orleans also activated TE Foster Moreau from the PUP list, giving young QB Spencer Rattler another weapon.

  • Justin Tucker plotting NFL comeback: Several reportedly interested in signing former All-Pro kicker

Justin Tucker plotting NFL comeback: Several reportedly interested in signing former All-Pro kicker

    Getty Images

Former Ravens All-Pro kicker Justin Tucker looks to continue his NFL career when his suspension ends on November 11. Tucker, who is serving a 10-game suspension for violating the league’s personal conduct policy, has already drawn interest from several teams, according to NFL Media.

Tucker, 35, has been working out at his alma mater, Texas, where he recently recreated his 18 game-winning field goals from 2021-24.

The Baltimore Ravens released Tucker a month prior to his suspension. His suspension stems from accusations of inappropriate behavior from 16 massage therapists from eight different spas and wellness centers.

A former undrafted rookie, Tucker was one of the NFL’s best kickers during his first 11 seasons in Baltimore. Over that span, he earned seven Pro Bowl selections and five All-Pro nods. In 2021, he made history by making a 66-yard field goal, the longest in NFL history.

  • Pete Carroll faces a rare four-game losing streak

Pete Carroll faces a rare four-game losing streak

Pete Carroll has coached 295 regular-season games. On Sunday against the Colts, the first-year Raiders coach risks an outcome that has happened to him only twice before.

    A four-game losing streak.

Carroll has coached the Jets, Patriots, Seahawks, and now the Raiders. Nineteen total seasons as a head coach. And he has lost four in a row in 1994 with the Jets (the losing streak reached five) and four in a row in 2023 with the Seahawks.

The 3-1 Colts are favored by seven points.

After beating the Patriots to open the season, the Raiders have lost to the Chargers, Commanders, and Bears.

If the streak reaches four, there’s a good chance the Raiders won’t match Carroll’s career-long losing streak of five. Next Sunday, the winless Titans come to town.
