Texas A&M will face Missouri freshman QB Matt Zollers in Week 11

An update on Missouri QB Beau Pribula, who suffered an ankle injury yesterday:

Further testing revealed a bad sprain and ligament damage, but no surgery necessary and there’s maybe even an outside chance he could return during the regular season, sources tell @CBSSports. pic.twitter.com/YiaqMvHKwk

    — Matt Zenitz (@mzenitz) October 26, 2025

No. 3 Texas A&M (8-0, 5-0 SEC) continued to look like one of the best teams in the country after dismantling LSU (5-3, 2-3 SEC) 49-25 in Death Valley, which serves as the Aggies’ first win in Baton Rouge since 1994. By all accounts, this win further proves that Texas A&M isn’t just a College Football Playoff contender, but a team worthy of National Championship discussion.

After trailing 18-14 going into halftime, head coach Mike Elko’s now-legendary second-half adjustments took hold, leading to a 35-7 run, as starting quarterback Marcel Reed, despite his two first-half interceptions, threw for two and ran for two touchdowns, while leading the Aggies in rushing with 108 yards, which has continued to frustrate defenses.

On defense, Texas A&M’s defensive line, which has produced 18 sacks in the last four SEC games, continued to wreak havoc in the backfield with 20 pressures, seven sacks, and eleven tackles for loss, which was the key to keeping LSU behind the sticks throughout the night. Entering the bye week, the Aggies will now rest up before heading to Columbia to face the Missouri Tigers in Week 11.

However, during Missouri’s 17-10 home loss to Vanderbilt, Tigers starting quarterback Beau Pribula was carted off with an injury. According to 247Sports reporter Matt Zenitz, the senior signal caller did not sustain ligament damage, but is dealing with a “bad sprain” that will keep him sidelined for the time being, with an “outside chance” to return by the end of the season.

    This means…

  • Don’t be fooled by Dolphins, plus game balls and gaffes from NFL Week 8

Don’t be fooled by Dolphins, plus game balls and gaffes from NFL Week 8

Ever hear of the phrase dead cat bounce? Well, Miami’s 34-10 throttling of the Atlanta Falcons could be characterized as a dead dolphin bounce.

Sure, the Dolphins looked stellar as they took it to the Falcons on the road, but don’t be tricked into thinking this is an organization that has turned the tide. Fight the urge to look at Tua Tagovailoa’s pristine stat line, where the veteran quarterback completed 20 of his 24 throws for 205 yards and four touchdowns in the win, and use that as your beacon of hope that something has clicked for Miami.

The destination that will find Miami out of the playoff picture by season’s end, which will then trigger systematic changes, including at head coach and potentially quarterback, remains on track.

The victory, however impressive even if the Falcons were without starting quarterback Michael Penix Jr. and No. 1 wideout Drake London, has brought the Dolphins to just 2-6 on the season, still well out of range of being in the playoff conversation. They are four games behind both the New England Patriots (6-2) and Buffalo Bills (5-2) in the loss column in the division, and the road ahead isn’t as rosy as their remaining strength of schedule may suggest. Currently, Miami possesses the eighth-easiest remaining strength of schedule in the NFL with its opponents’ combined win percentage sitting at a measly .463.

However, there’s nuance to that figure which makes it much tougher than it meets the eye, which is highlighted in their upcoming trio of games. In Week 9, they’ll face the Baltimore Ravens, who, yes, are 2-5 on the year, but also could very well get Lamar Jackson back for the contest. The early 7.5-point spread in favor of Baltimore on the road suggests that Jackson will be under center, so that’s not a true under-.500 ball club they’ll face.

The same instance occurs two weeks later in Week 11 when they head to Madrid, Spain. There,…

  • AP Top 25 poll: Oklahoma, Missouri tumble in Week 10 college football rankings

AP Top 25 poll: Oklahoma, Missouri tumble in Week 10 college football rankings

    Getty Images

There weren’t many dramatic upsets in the college football world on Saturday, but we certainly came close to a few. No. 4 Alabama escaped Columbia with a 29-22 victory despite quite the scare from South Carolina. The Crimson Tide scored 15 points in the final 2:16 of regulation to move to 7-1. It was the second fourth-quarter comeback for coach Kalen DeBoer as the coach of the Tide, and both have come against the Gamecocks.

No. 16 Virginia almost gave Bill Belichick his first ACC win, but escaped Chapel Hill with a 17-16 victory in overtime. The Cavaliers moved up one spot in the newest AP poll. Arch Manning and No. 22 Texas recorded their largest comeback (17 points) since 2007, as the Longhorns defeated Mississippi State, 45-38 in overtime. Texas is now up to No. 20.

Elsewhere, No. 10 Vanderbilt moved to 7-1 with a 17-10 victory over No. 15 Missouri, who lost quarterback Beau Pribula to a gruesome leg injury. Vandy rose one spot to No. 9 while Mizzou tumbled to No. 19. Lane Kiffin finally got that signature road win in Oklahoma, as his No. 8 Ole Miss Rebels defeated the Sooners, 34-26. Ole Miss moved up one spot to No. 7, while Oklahoma fell five spots to No. 18. We have to give some love to the American Conference as well as unranked Memphis came back from down 14 points in the fourth quarter to upset No. 18 USF, 34-31. Memphis is now 7-1 on the year and 2-1 this season when trailing by two touchdowns. The Tigers are No. 25 in the newest AP poll, while South Florida fell out.

No. 3 Texas A&M looks to be the real deal after destroying No. 20 LSU, 49-25, in Death…

Kyle Shanahan: Brandon Aiyuk could return to practice as soon as next week

The 49ers could open wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk’s 21-day practice window as soon as next week, coach Kyle Shanahan said Friday.

“Yeah, I believe he’s getting a lot closer,” Shanahan said, via David Bonilla of 49erswebzone.com. “It could [happen next week]. I think we’re week-to-week now, so hopefully, it will be sooner than later.”

Aiyuk remains on the reserve/physically unable to perform list as he continues to work his way back from ACL and MCL tears in his knee. He was injured Oct. 20, 2024, in a game against the Chiefs.

General Manager John Lynch said this week that Aiyuk was “making really good progress.”

Aiyuk had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in 2022 and 2023 before playing only seven games last season. He finished 2024 with 25 catches for 374 yards.
