    We are now officially halfway through the 2023 NFL season, and all 32 clubs are dealing with injuries. The New York Giants are down to their third quarterback, the New York Jets are banged up on the offensive line and the Cincinnati Bengals have several injured wide receivers. 

    Who’s in this weekend, and who’s out? Let’s take a look at the injuries around the league. Below, we will break down all of the final injury reports for Week 10 in the NFL.

    Houston Texans at Cincinnati Bengals (-6.5)

    Cincy will be down at least two starters in Hubbard and Higgins. Both did not practice on Thursday and Friday. The headline is Chase, however, who is officially listed as questionable with a back issue. He was limited on Thursday and Friday after missing practice Wednesday. 

    Vikings star wideout Justin Jefferson is questionable to return to the lineup after being limited in practice all week, but he has said he’s going to take his time with his return. Hockenson is questionable with injured ribs after being limited in practice all week, as is Osborn, who suffered a concussion last Sunday. He was a full participant in practice on Friday. 

    The Titans will be without four starters on Sunday, including two on the offensive line in Brunskill and NPF. Murphy-Bunting won’t get to play against his former team, as he has been ruled out with a thumb injury. Tannehill is questionable to suit up for the first time since Week 6, although if he does, he will be the backup to rookie quarterback Will Levis.

    The Bucs could be shorthanded in the secondary, as Davis and Dean are questionable to play. Davis was limited on Friday after missing Wednesday and Thursday, while Dean was a full participant on Friday.     Virginia running back Perris Jones was stretchered off the field with an injury late in the third quarter of the Cavaliers’ 31-24 loss Thursday at No. 11 Louisville. Jones’ injury occurred after he caught a pass from Cavaliers quarterback Anthony Colandrea and took a big hit from a Cardinals defender. Jones fumbled on contact, but the ball was recovered by Virginia wide receiver Malik Washington, who ran 42 more yards for a go-ahead touchdown. 

    Following the game, the school gave a positive update on Jones’ condition. The running back had regained movement in his extremities and remained in the hospital overnight on Thursday. 

    Members of Louisville’s training staff were the first to reach Jones. Virtually every Virginia player crowded around their injured teammate as he was loaded onto the injury cart while strapped on a stretcher. 

    Jones, a senior from Alexandria, Virginia, entered Thursday with 73 carries for 386 yards and two touchdowns on the season. He was credited with three carries for 7 yards and two catches for 23 yards against Louisville before exiting the contest.

    CHICAGO — DJ Moore was all smiles after the Bears’ ugly 16-13 win over the Carolina Panthers on Thursday night at Soldier Field.

    But the star wide receiver did have one gripe after the Bears’ third win of the season. Officials penalized Moore twice for offensive pass interference in the win. Both calls landed somewhere between questionable and unacceptable on the “bad call” spectrum.

    Moore wasn’t pleased with the laundry he was assessed in the win.

    “No,” Moore said after the win when asked if the refs explained the PI calls to him. “They was getting on my nerves today. They called me twice for it, and then they going to have the nerve to talk to me afterwards. Don’t talk to me afterward because neither of them were pass interference, so it’s OK.”

    The second flag was an egregious call.

    Facing a third-and-9 late in the third quarter, quarterback Tyson Bagent dropped back and hit Trent Taylor on the left side for a gain of 16. Moore’s feet got tangled up with a defensive back while he and Taylor were running their routes, and the officials flagged Moore for pass interference when the defensive back stumbled after making contact with his feet.

    Moore wasn’t pleased with how he was officiated Thursday, and he had a light-hearted message for the refs that was undoubtedly softened by the win.

    “The second one, they ain’t say nothing about the second one,” Moore said when asked about his communication with the refs. “The first one, they said I drove him downfield to far. He initiated contact with me first, so I don’t know.

    “Maybe we need other refs.”

    Moore caught five passes for 58 yards in the win as the Bears rode a dominant defensive performance to a win they had to have.

    Had the Bears not found a way to win their first one-score game since Week 3 of last season, Moore undoubtedly would have had harsher words for an officiating crew that had an effort…

    Why Washington is the most at-risk Pac-12 contender this week

    The Pac-12 Conference is still an open race. Undefeated Washington leads the way, with one-loss Oregon sitting right behind. Although the spread would indicate otherwise, Washington and Oregon both have tests this week that could push either off track.

    Utah at Washington (-9.5, 50)

    The Utes bounced back from a rout to Oregon with a 55-3 win over Arizona State, generating 352 yards of rushing offense at 7.2 yards per carry. Utah will need that same fire against the Huskies, who allowed 203 rushing yards in 52-42 win over USC. Washington may have the No. 1 passing offense, but defensively it ranks 79th in total EPA (expected points added) and 117th in EPA per play against the run.

    It was a contributing factor in the Huskies’ 15-7 win over Arizona State on Oct. 21, allowing 4.7 yards per carry to the Sun Devils, who average 3.2 overall.

    Ultimately, Washington finds itself in a bit of a sandwich spot, coming off a big conference win over the Trojans with Oregon State next week. The last three times the Beavers and Huskies played, the game was decided by one score. Utah is not a conference opponent to overlook, making this a brutal spot for Washington. Back Utah at +9.5.

    USC at Oregon (-15, 75)

    Oregon is getting a lot of respect and rightfully so. Since losing to Washington, the Ducks have outscored their last three opponents 136-49. On one hand, you have Bo Nix and Co. still in contention for the Pac-12 title and even possibly a shot as a CFP contender, while Caleb Williams and USC are out of the playoff race, Heisman race and likely the conference title game. How does USC respond?

    The Trojans did fire defensive coordinator Alex Grinch, but it’s too little, too late. Oregon may be the most complete team in the country with Nix leading in completion percentage with the fourth-best passer rating and a balanced offense with RB…

    What to Know

    The Panthers have enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Chicago Bears at 8:15 p.m. ET on Thursday at Soldier Field. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

    Last Sunday, the Panthers lost to the Colts at home by a decisive 27-13 margin. Despite 77 more yards than Indianapolis, Carolina couldn’t convert that extra yardage to scores.

    Meanwhile, Chicago’s game on Sunday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but sadly for them it didn’t stay that way. They fell 24-17 to the Saints. Chicago has now taken an ‘L’ in back-to-back games.

    Despite the defeat, the Bears had strong showings from Cole Kmet, who picked up 55 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Tyson Bagent, who threw for 220 yards and two touchdowns.

    Carolina’s loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Chicago, they continue to see their hopes of redeeming themselves for a poor last season fade as the team sits at a 2-7 record this season.

    Not only did the two teams lose their last games, but neither team managed to cover the spread. Looking forward, the Bears are the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 3.5 points. This contest will be the Panthers’ ninth straight as the underdogs (so far over this stretch they are 1-6-1 against the spread).

    Chicago is a 3.5-point favorite against Carolina, according to the latest NFL odds.

    The oddsmakers had a good feel for the line for this one, as the game opened with the Bears as a 3-point favorite.

    The over/under is set at 38.5 points.

    Lance Leipold has engineered an incredible turnaround in Kansas, leading what had been a dismal program to back-to-back bowl-eligible seasons including a 7-2 start to 2023. With that success, Leipold’s name has popped up in connection with high-profile job openings, including Nebraska and Wisconsin last year. Most recently a Michigan-based radio show speculated that Leipold had interviewed for the Michigan State job. Leipold shut down those rumors and reaffirmed his commitment to the Jayhawks program during his radio show Tuesday night.  

    “This (radio show) is the only interview (I’ve done over the last 48 hours) and that’s the way it’s going to be,” Leipold said. “The one thing that happens this time of year, is there’s a lot of speculation and things that are happening that are not accurate. As I’ve said for a long time, (Kansas athletic director) Travis Goff and Chancellor Girod have treated Kelly and I extremely well and our family. It is our plan and our expectation that we want to be here and this is going to be the last job that we have.”

    In a Tuesday interview with the Wichita Eagle, Goff also addressed speculation tying Leipold to open jobs. 

    “I would be shocked if his name wasn’t bubbling up one way or the other in just about every opening,” Goff said. “That would indicate what are we doing in our industry if that’s not happening. So I’m excited for that and continuing to reiterate that we’ve got a great one. We’ve got a great one that’s excited about and committed to leading KU.”

    Jaire Alexander misses practice with shoulder injury

    Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander has dealt with a back injury this season, but a different ailment caused him to miss practice on Wednesday.

    The team said that Alexander did not participate in their first on-field work of the week because of a shoulder injury. It’s not known when the injury occurred as Alexander played every snap in last Sunday’s win over the Rams.

    Linebacker Quay Walker (groin) remained out after missing Week Nine. Left tackle Yosh Nijman (back) and right guard Jon Runyan (neck) were also out of practice.

    Wide receiver Christian Watson (back) was a full participant after leaving the Rams game to be evaluated for a concussion. Defensive lineman Kenny Clark (shoulder), safety Rudy Ford (shoulder), left guard Elgton Jenkins (knee), and running back Aaron Jones (hamstring) were limited participants.

    The season starts now for J.J. McCarthy and Michigan.

    The Wolverines are 9-0 and No. 3 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings, but the level of competition on the schedule to this point has been lackluster. Michigan hasn’t faced a single ranked team and its average margin of victory has been a remarkable 34 points per game.

    Along the way, McCarthy has been excellent in his second season as Michigan’s starting quarterback and finds himself in the thick of the Heisman Trophy race. Other than a three-interception game back in September, McCarthy has been operating the Michigan offense at an extremely high level. While some of his statistics won’t wow you — his 2,134 passing yards ranks 39th in the nation — McCarthy has been incredibly efficient.

    McCarthy, who is currently +600 to win the Heisman at BetMGM, has completed 75.7% of his passes (No. 3 nationally), is averaging 10.4 yards per attempt (tied No. 2 nationally) and has the second-best passer rating in the country (188.68). He also has a stellar 18-to-3 touchdown-to-interception ratio.

    But will McCarthy be able to operate at that level against better teams? Michigan’s entire season essentially comes down to this three-game stretch, starting with Saturday’s road game at No. 10 Penn State. Penn State’s only loss of the year came at Ohio State back on Oct. 21 and the Nittany Lions are hungry to get back in the CFP and Big Ten title hunts.
