Here’s the latest news and buzz as the Jets search for a new head coach…

New York has requested to interview Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, according to NFL Insider Albert Breer.
Hafley, a Montvale native, was in Green Bay for just a year after he was head coach of Boston College for three seasons. He first broke into the NFL after working in the college ranks coaching defensive backs with Tampa Bay (2012-13) before moving on to Cleveland (2014-15) and San Francisco (2016-18).
The Jets are also set to interview Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores on Friday, according to Jordan Schultz.
Flores is interviewing with several other teams after Minnesota was eliminated from the playoffs, including Jacksonville on Friday and Chicago on Saturday. The Brooklyn native was Miami’s head coach (2019-21), where after a 5-11 season, turned in back-to-back winning seasons at 10-6 and 9-8.
After he was fired by the Dolphins, he served as a senior defensive assistant in Pittsburgh in 2022 before spending the last two seasons with the NFC North team. He got his start in New England where he held a number of roles from 2008-18.

The Jets announced that they have completed an interview with Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph.
Joseph, 52, served as Broncos head coach from 2017-18, going 11-21. He also worked for a handful of NFL teams, serving as defensive coordinator with the Dolphins, Cardinals, and Broncos.

The Jets have requested an interview with Commanders defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr., reports Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Per Pelissero, this will be Whitt’s first head coaching interview.
Whitt, 46, joined the Commanders ahead of this season after serving as the secondary/defensive passing game coordinator for the Cowboys from 2021 to 2023.
