Seahawks reach injury settlements with two safeties

The NFL can be a cutthroat business, especially when it comes to injury. With limited roster space, injured players on the roster bubble often find themselves looking for new NFL homes. Such is the case for a pair of safeties from the Seattle Seahawks: Joey Blount and undrafted free agent Jonathan Sutherland.

The safety room was crowded in Seattle with players like Quandre Diggs, Julian Love, and the return of Jamal Adams. With the cutting down to the final 53-man roster, the Seahawks moved on from Blount and Sutherland.

Blount played in 11 games for the Seahawks last season, but he did not make much of an impact. In those 11 games the only statistic Blount recorded was one fumble recovery. However, NFL teams are always looking for depth, so I’m sure Blount will land on his feet somewhere else in the league.
